One of the best things about working at WSE is meeting and getting to know lovely students from all over the world! It's always sad though when we have to say goodbye...
24 year old Roberto, a petroleum engineer from Venezuela, studied with us for 7 months and after finishing his course, has now returned home to Venezuela. Here, he tells you all about his experience at WSE:
"You’ve had your farewell party, said goodbye to your family and friends in your country for what might be a long time! What an emotional day! A new step in your life is about to start and you feel in low spirits, there are tons of worries, you have no friends in England, there are a couple of tests that you have to pass and you will live with a family that you don't even know. You have mixed feelings, don't you?
The big day has arrived, you have knocked the door and suddenly your host family make you feel like you’re at home. First day in the school, what a warm welcome. First lesson, what a dynamic source of knowledge. First day I've talked to at least 20 people, I wondered to myself is this normal? They don't even speak my language, there is a world of difference between us, differences in nationality, culture, age, language, accent and so on. However, you don't feel any difference!

What is Wimbledon School of English? It was an exceptional, extraordinary, incomparable and unforgettable experience in my life.
The quality and the efficiency of teachers is just outstanding with tons of great techniques and strategies to hone your English skills. Apart from honing my English skills, I also ended up learning a little bit of Arabic, Portuguese, German, Japanese and a variety of traditions and culture from almost 30 countries. I can assure that studying at WSE will change the way that you see English.
When it comes to my host family, I considered myself very lucky! It was by far the best host family ever. I have no words to explain, I'd say that this host family represents the best of both worlds. Apart from having 5 British siblings to practice my English, I also had wonderful and delicious Italian and English food that was cooked by my host mother, who is originally from Italy.

Turning to the school, time flies when you are having fun, I had fun in a vast variety of activities organized by the social programme coordinator Blanca such as: welcome party, international party, running club, badminton, squash, beach volleyball, film club, football, tennis, zumba lessons, salsa lessons, Arabic Ramadan, Latin Fiesta, WSE got talent, Irish party, games night, fun marathon, and all these for free, furthermore, night club (pacha, ministry of sound, tiger tiger, ponana, the slug) excursions, trips to another cities, theatre, football matches and a lots more... Blanca and all the staff made the social programme amazing!
On the other hand, it's not all wonderful! There will come a time that you have to say goodbye to such a great friend that you've met. But do not worry because you have made these friends for life.
As Terminator said, I'll be back WSE, or at least my children will!
Roberto, thank you for your kind words. We are missing you here at WSE! We hope to see you back here with us in the not too distant future...
