Our English and Culture course for students aged 40+ is one of the most popular and unique options here at WSE.
English and Culture is a 2 week course for more mature students who would like to combine learning English with spending time getting to know London and British Culture.

The course combines lessons, excursions, and leisure activities meaning that it is the perfect ‘holiday course’. Lessons take place in the morning, with excursions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons as well as a full day excursion on Saturday.
The activities include art galleries, stately homes, museums, beautiful gardens and other places of cultural interests. Students will make new friends whilst improving their English and learning about British culture, history and traditions through food, drink, trips and excursions!
Last year, we ran English and Culture in the summer and we had a lovely group! The course was so popular, we decided to run more dates this year!
In 2015, we will run the English and Culture course 3 times:
7th April 2015 – 17th April 2015
10th August – 21st August 2015
5th October 2015 – 16th October 2015
The course costs £750.
We suggest either staying in a homestay with a British family, as a way learning even more about English culture or staying in our superior Queen's Lodge student residence. Queen's Lodge is a beautiful house located 10 minutes walk from the school for students over the age of 30 only. Each room also has an ensuite private bathroom.
