Goodbye to Sarah after 23 years as a teacher at WSE

50 years: Goodbye to Sarah

This year, WSE is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and to commemorate this special occasion we have been talking to people about their experiences at WSE over the last 50 years.

This week, we say goodbye to one of our longest serving teachers: Sarah Perkins. The lovely Sarah has been teaching at WSE for 23 years and will now open her own private tutoring business, teaching students one to one.

When Sarah joined WSE, she was interviewed by principal Jane Dancaster, who was then the Director of Studies. Her first impressions of WSE were that it was a friendly place with a great atmosphere and she agrees that it is still very much the same.

The first class she taught was General English in the space which is now the school reception. When Sarah started teaching at WSE there were only 3 different courses to choose from for students and now we have over 20!

Initially Sarah was attracted to the school because of its beautiful building and she only planned to stay for a year or so. 23 years on, she says it’s the people that kept her here!

Thank you for all your hard work Sarah and good luck with your future endeavours! You will be missed by staff and students alike.
