Welfare at the Junior Summer Centres

Welfare at the Junior Summer Centres

We take safeguarding of our students as the number one priority. Both inside and outside of the classrooms our students welfare is very important to us and this has been evidenced with excellent British Council inspection results. We have an excellent staff to student ratio of an average of 1:5 with a maximum of 1:10. Our well-qualified and experienced staff are all trained in child protection and safeguarding and have suitable police checks in place prior to their employment. There is 24-hours a day supervision on-site and students are always able to contact a member of staff in case of emergency. We have first aiders on site 24-hours a day and have links with local Doctor surgeries and the Hospital should we feel students need to see a specialist.

According to the EL Gazette, and within our first year as a Junior Summer Centre, our Lord Wandsworth Campus was nominated safest boarding school campus for under 18s.

Upon arrival each student is shown to their residence where they will meet their House Parent and the Head of Welfare who, along with the rest of the staff, will take an active interest in all aspects of their stay at WSE. From the moment our students arrive through to their departures there is always a member of staff they can talk to.

We have a great deal of experience with working with young learners from around the world and we look forward to meeting our next students in the summer of 2019.
