Wimbledon is known for having some of the best pubs and restaurants in London and there are so many good places to eat. We have everything from fast food to fine dining, and this week we asked our staff to recommend their favourite places to eat.

We’ve compiled a list of our top 10 restaurants and the reasons why our staff like them so much

  1.  Wahaca – Mexican street food with a twist. It’s perfect for dinner with a group of friends because you can order lots of small plates and try lots of different things.
Who recommends it? Kieran Hayde, Sales, Marketing and Groups Manager
  2. Al Forno – Delicious, authentic Italian food in a beautiful setting. The pizzas are made with a real wood fired pizza oven so they taste great. The restaurant has a rustic décor that would make you think you’re in Italy.
Who recommends? Verity Lester, Accommodation Officer

  3. Côte Brasserie – Located in Wimbledon Village, this French restaurant is well known for using only the highest quality ingredients, many of which they source from France. They do an excellent set menu which offers great value for money.
Who recommends it? Blanca Rey-Surman, Social Programme Organiser

  4. Chipotle – Another Mexican restaurant which is very popular with our students. Located around the corner from Wimbledon School of English, the burritos are so big they could feed an entire family.  The staff are lovely and it’s perfect for tasty food on the go.
Who recommends it? Maya Cobic, Accounts Administrator

  5. The Rose and Crown – We had to include a typical British pub in our list and this is the best place for a hearty Sunday Roast or some good Fish and Chips. If you’re feeling full, go for a lovely walk around Wimbledon Common. A perfect afternoon!
Who recommends? Cristina Lorusso, Marketing and Admin Assistant

  6. Jimmy’s Restaurants – This is a great choice if you’re in a big group and everyone wants something different. It’s a huge, buffet style restaurant serving cuisines from all over the world.
Who recommends? Hira Din, IELTS Co-ordinator

  7. Stage Door – Located opposite Wimbledon Theatre, this family owned restaurant specialises in traditional Greek food. Telma tells us that it is always so fresh and tasty and the service is unbeatable.
Who recommends? Telma Carneiro, Accounts Administrator

  8. Le Pain Quotidien – A Belgian style boulangerie serving delicious organic food. Fabiana recommends the Belgian hot chocolate, homemade raspberry lemonade and the delicious vegan cocoa and pear cake.
Who recommends? Fabiana Ottini, Examinations Assistant

  9. Watch Me – If you’re a fan of South Asian cuisine, this Sri-Lankan restaurant is just for you. They have an open kitchen so you can watch all the food being freshly prepared. With all the aromas from the kitchen, your mouth will be watering by the time your food comes.
Who recommends? Kate Higgins, Administration Assistant

  10. Mai Tai – This family run restaurant has been serving Thai food to Wimbledon for over 30 years. Very popular with staff and students alike, this gets a big thumbs up from us!
Who recommends? Jane Dancaster, Principal and Managing Director

I’m sure that has left you feeling hungry! Hopefully you will have a chance to visit some of these restaurants while you’re in Wimbledon and be sure to let us know if you discover any delicious places that should be added to our list.
